The Mansion House in Newport, Wales was built as a private residence by John Liscombe, a prominent leather merchant and mayor of Newport in1890s. It later served as the official residence of the city’s mayors until 2009. In 2011, after a major refurbishment, the Mansion House was transformed into Newport’s Register Office.
