Newport registry office… I photographed a handful of weddings there before, but I had only photographed weddings indoors at that registry office, and this was the first time I was able to photograph an outdoor ceremony there. I need to say that not many registry offices have the facilities for outdoor ceremonies.

It was a lovely ceremony, with only closest family and friends present.

A bit of an unexpected and worrying thing unfolded during the ceremony when the page boy inadvertently lost the ring. In a quick solution, the newlyweds temporarily borrowed a ring from a family member. But just when all seemed lost, the missing ring was miraculously found in a parking lot, much to everyone’s relief. I was even prepared to offer my husband’s metal detector to aid the search later or next day
