Greek orthodox church wedding photography
Ana-Maria and Kurt got married at Cardiff Greek Orthodox Church. The Church was founded in 1873 as the Greek Sea Men’s Mission. Nowadays the Parish serves Orthodox Christians across Cardiff and South Wales. Services are celebrated in both Greek and English.
As a wedding photographer I admire this beautiful church, and had a big pleasure to photograph a wedding there before, and a few christening ceremonies.
By the way the orthodox wedding ceremony presumes that the rings are not being exchanged by the bride and groom themselves, but they are placed on their fingers by their godparents.
Hensol castle wedding reception
Ana-Maria was getting ready at the Vale Resort Hotel, alongside her mother and bridesmaids. After she got fully ready, a nice Romanian tradition took place – the bride’s sweet bread, called “colac” was held above her head, and everyone ate a small piece of it. They say it brings luck to everyone who tasted it 😉
Wedding reception took place at The Hensol Castle (previously Hensol House, dated back from 1419). Ana-Maria made part of the wedding decoration herself – the small lovely paper flowers for each guest. The reception was lovely and relaxed, the speeches were so joyful and emotional!
The party and first dance were gorgeous, and the guests were dancing a nice Romanian dance called hora.
