Corporation Yard wedding photography
Rebecca and Steve first booked me for their 2020 April wedding at Rosedew Farm. I met them at the venue, we had a nice a nice walk around, Rebecca showed me where she was going to get ready, where guests were going to stay, we chose nice locations for the photos, and even visited the local beach… Everything seemed to be so well planned. But the wedding was cancelled, as apparently everything was cancelled in 2020 due to restrictions and COVID-19 national lockdown.
Rebecca contacted me again in February 2022 enquiring if I was available for August 13, 2022. And it actually was the only August Saturday I was available. And another interesting thing was that I received around 10 enquiries for August 13, but for some reason no one went ahead and booked this date. So when Rebecca contacted me, I understood why – it just was a destiny for me to be their wedding photographer 🙂 The new venue for the wedding celebration was the Corporation Yard in Cardiff (188 Cowbridge Rd E, Cardiff CF5 1GW), and the wedding ceremony took place at St Catherine’s church hall.
St Catherine’s church hall wedding ceremony
St Catherine’s Church, Canton is a listed Anglican church which serves the areas of Canton and Riverside in Cardiff, Wales. It became a separate parish in 1895, but in the 20th Century, this was merged with St John’s.
Rebecca and Steve had their ceremony at St Catherine’s church hall, and it was conducted by the bride’s uncle. It was a very personal, lovely ceremony! After the ceremony it was time for some confetti, food, photos and a 10 minutes walk through the Canton towards the venue.
Corporation yard wedding
The Corporation Yard is a local street food market in Canton, Cardiff. There’s a really great atmosphere, please don’t hesitate to take a look at the reception photographs I took there, and you’ll realise how lovely this venue is.
Rebecca and Steve’s wedding reception was a bit different than a 3-course-meal: street food vendors were providing the food, and the guests could choose anything they wanted – Thai food or kebabs, etc.
Also there was a variety of cakes – wedding guests brought the cakes and biscuits they cooked themselves, and it reminded me of another wedding where I’ve seen so many cakes – it was Penny and Tom’s wedding at Clevedon community hall.
