Mercure Hotel Swansea wedding photography
I am absolutely delighted to share this beautiful summer wedding with you. Emma and Ashley got married at Mercure hotel in Swansea, and it was a very hot summer day (like most of the summer days in 2022). Emma and Ashley were joking that they brought the hot weather from Dubai, where they lived and worked for quite a while before moving back to Wales. I didn’t want to break the joke, but the weather on nearly every wedding I photographed in June-mid August 2022 was hot. And I’ve captured far more than 20 weddings during the mentioned period 🙂
The Mercure Hotel Swansea is located very conveniently near Liberty Stadium, and other tourist attractions, has a huge car park, access to the lakeside grounds and offers a variety of wedding packages.
The wedding day was very relaxed, Emma and Ashley only wanted as many natural photos as possible, except for a few key group and family shots. Well, it wasn’t a hard task for me, it’s what I usually do – capture the day in a very natural and relaxed way.
The ceremony was absolutely lovely, after the ceremony it was time for some drinks, and it was quite unusual for a summer wedding – but most guests stayed indoors, as it was really hot outside. A little bit later when the sun was lower I captured some group photos, the photographs of the newlyweds, and confetti shot!
The wedding breakfast was lovely, and I especially loved the table names. Nothing special for those who don’t know. But something special for the bride and groom – every table was named after a place in Dubai where their paths crossed but they didn’t meet. How interesting, what a concept. It made me think of how much depends on the “chance”: bride and groom lived in Dubai for almost 16 years. It took 10 years and a swipe right to bring them together.
