Caerphilly castle family photography

Caerphilly Castle was built in the 13th century and is the largest castle in Wales and the second-largest castle in the United Kingdom after Windsor Castle. Nowadays Castle grounds are very attractive for tourists, and local residents (like me), who absolutely enjoy the scenic views.

First I met Angela and Nathan in 2017, when they booked a family photography session by Cardiff castle for themselves, their daughters and Nathan’s parents. The couple live in Canada with their kids, and wanted to capture the nice moments of their visit to Cardiff. It was a big pleasure to meet them again when they spent some time in the UK in 2022, and capture another family photography session for them. I squeezed them in between lots of July weddings, and we spent a beautiful time by the Caerphilly castle.

The weather on the day was lovely, a bit windy, but the sky was so beautiful – it was blue with some clouds, and so many flowers were blossoming by the castle. The only disappointing thing was that the Castle’s Tower was all covered in scaffolds and white sheets. But I managed to get the ideal angles where these construction bits were hidden.

I absolutely adore this little tradition – taking Angela and Nathan’s photos by beautiful Welsh castles 😉 By the way when we were walking around the castle, so many people were asking Angela and Nathan where they were from (because of her accent). And I felt a bit jealous, why no one was asking me – I have an accent as well :)))
