Abertridwr Community Church wedding ceremony
It was a lovely, intimate and very emotional wedding day with only closest family members and friends being invited to celebrate. Sophie and Rhys got married in August 2022 at Abertridwr Community Church. Abertridwr community church is an Independent Evangelical Church in the heart of the village of Abertridwr (Caerphilly county). It’s the christian congregation serving the Caerphilly community and providing pastoral care, praise, prayer and worship, sick visiting, youth work, etc.
Sophie was taken down the aisle by her sister, it was such an emotional moment! The ceremony was lovely, emotional and informal, I absolutely loved it, the mood, and the stories the vicar was telling. I think getting married in your local church is a very good idea!
Senghenydd community centre wedding reception
The wedding reception took place at the Senghenydd Community Centre. The centre was originally built as the Park Hotel and Assembly Rooms. At some point during its history it was used as a police station, the miner’s HQ during the long strikes, and library. The top floor was a snooker hall for many years, now a reception room, where Sophie and Rhys had their wedding reception.
Before heading to the reception room, we spent some time with the bride and groom in a nearby park, where I took some lovely photos. Newlyweds told me they absolutely love trees, so it was a perfect spot for their wedding photography session.
