The Manor at Old Down Estate wedding photography

The Manor at Old Down Estate is such an elegant wedding venue. It’s so spacious, full of light and it’s so “weddingly”.

The Manor was built in 1856 and was known then as Fern Park. During its history, the beautiful mansion was owned by several families, was burnt, lay empty, and in ruins for 18 years. Old Down was also owned by Mike Oldfield the rock musician.  The current owners redeveloped the Park as a tourist attraction.

The Manor at Old Down Estate wedding ceremony

Tim and Natalie tied the knot at the Manor at Old Down Estate in February 2022.

As far as I remember their original wedding date was February 14th, 2021 (St Valentine’s day). But because of coronavirus-related restrictions they had to postpone their big day and moved it to the last weekend of February 2022. And I had to admit they picked the most beautiful winter day you could only imagine. It was so warm and sunny, so everyone enjoyed being outdoors and admiring the outstanding panoramic views. Honestly not every summer wedding is guaranteed to take place under such a blue sky and mild sunshine.

So when you plan your wedding day, sometimes the winter date may be even more favorable from the point of view of weather than a summer/autumn one. It all depends on luck.

The beautiful bride, her sons, and her family members (mother and sisters, and bride’s brother) were getting ready for the day in the impressive bridal suite before heading to the ceremony.

Natalie was crying when walking down the aisle, it was such an emotional moment! After the lovely ceremony, it was time for the family and group shots and for the bride and groom’s photoshoot. Needless to say, the Manor at Old Down Estate is surrounded by amazing picturesque meadows, and the views and backgrounds there are simply gorgeous! Just a perfect place for the perfect photos!

The wedding breakfast took place at the elegant Orangery, and it was followed by cake cutting and evening celebrations.
