Wedding at Hollybush (Draethen) and St. Michael & All Angels Church, Lower Machen

Сarl and Seran are almost my neighbors – they live in a neighboring picturesque village in an equally picturesque house with a large garden. And themselves they grew a variety of beautiful flowers for the bride’s bouquet, the groom’s boutonniere and other wedding decorations. Isn’t it lovely?

The ceremony (service) was held in the ancient church in Machen ( St. Michael & All Angels Church, Lower Machen), which is about 800 years old. It’s impressive – think only how many generations signed the registry there and became husband and wife. And sadly not so many people are visiting this church nowadays.

Wedding reception (as well as the groom’s family morning tea) took place in a local cozy pub called The Hollybush where it was so easy to keep a warm and friendly atmosphere.

I think it is a great venue for a small intimate wedding in a semi-rural village of Draethen.
