Ty Mawr wedding photography
Ty Mawr’s location on Caerphilly Mountain has a rich history. The site was once home to farmsteads, and for a period after World War II and into the 1960s, it served as the kennels for the local Lisvane Hunt’s fox hounds. The pub itself was established in the 1960s and is well-known for its breathtaking, panoramic views over Cardiff.
I’ve been a photographer in Cardiff for years, but somehow, this was my first time getting to shoot at Ty Mawr.

Grace and David’s wedding day at Ty Mawr was simply lovely. With bright sunshine, a beautifully romantic atmosphere, and so much laughter, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
It was a relaxed and fun-filled day. Star Wars mascots entertained both kids and adults, setting a playful tone before everyone enjoyed a fantastic hog roast buffet. This laid-back vibe led to a ton of great candid shots, and I was thrilled to get this lovely review from the bride:
“Oh my goodness you’ve done such an incredible job I’m sat in work crying looking at them. You’ve really captured the essence of the day and all I see are the biggest smiles. You’re incredible wow. I can’t wait to sit down with David and go through them and share them. Thank you so so much”.
